The history of Istanbul is woven into its streets, from the bustling bazaars to the tranquil shores of the Bosphorus. Its musical heritage, a reflection of centuries of cultural exchange, forms the beating heart and indomitable soul of the city.
Organised by the Yunus Emre Institute London in collaboration with Turkish Intercultural Society in Scotland, and supported by Turkish Airlines, this concert is part of the centenary celebrations of the Republic of Türkiye, the custodian of Istanbul's musical heritage.
Audiences will be treated to masterful performances by renowned Turkish musicians Göksel Baktagir on Qanun, Yurdal Tokcan on Oud, Derya Türkan on Kemenche, and Bülent Elmas on Percussion. Their contributions to the world of music are widely acclaimed, and their performances promise to be unforgettable.
